👨‍💻Engineering & Authorship

Who Builds & Maintains MakeMyBarcode

MakeMyBarcode is developed and actively maintained by a team of full-stack software engineers, web performance enthusiasts, and supply-chain logistics specialists. Our engineers have built high-throughput inventory software, warehouse automation systems, and e-commerce platforms.

We launched MakeMyBarcode after growing frustrated by existing online barcode tools that were bloated with spammy popups, locked basic vector SVG exports behind paid tiers, or transmitted sensitive business SKU lists to remote servers. By combining modern web standards (Web Workers, Canvas API, Vector SVG rendering) with established barcode symbology mathematics, we built a tool that is fast, accessible worldwide, and inherently private.

🏛️Standards Compliance

International Standards Compliance

Every barcode generated on MakeMyBarcode adheres to official global specifications maintained by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and GS1:

  • ISO/IEC 15417: Code 128 symbology standard, Modulo 103 checksum calculation, auto-switching subsets A, B, and C.
  • ISO/IEC 15420 & GS1 General Specifications: EAN-13, UPC-A, and UPC-E point-of-sale retail barcodes with Modulo 10 check digit math.
  • ISO/IEC 16388: Code 39 (3 of 9) discrete alphanumeric symbology with optional Modulo 43 validation.
  • ISO/IEC 16022: Data Matrix ECC 200 2D square matrix error correction symbology for aerospace and healthcare serialization.
  • ISO/IEC 18004: QR Code models 1 and 2, Micro QR, and Reed-Solomon Error Correction Levels L, M, Q, and H.

📝 Editorial & Accuracy Review Policy

All educational articles, technical guides, and format tutorials published on MakeMyBarcode undergo a rigorous multi-step review process. We verify formulas (such as Modulo check digit algorithms) against active GS1 documentation and physically test generated barcodes with hardware laser scanners, CCD imagers, and mobile camera readers to ensure our instructions reflect real-world scanning environments.
